Extended Registration Deadline and Fee Payment

Originally, the last date for registration was May 15, 2024. Additionally, registered candidates can make fee payments until May 20, 2024, up to 11:59 pm. Accepted payment methods include credit card, debit card, net banking, and UPI.

Correction Window

Candidates who need to make corrections to their application can do so during the correction window, which will be open from May 21 to May 23, 2024. It is crucial to provide accurate information, as all communication from NTA will be sent via the registered email address or mobile number.

Eligibility Criteria

General/unreserved/general-EWS candidates must have secured at least 55% marks in a master’s degree or equivalent examination from a UGC-recognized institution in relevant fields such as Humanities, Social Science, Computer Science, and Applications, and Electronic Science.

OBC (non-creamy layer), SC, ST, PwD, and Third gender category candidates must have at least 50% marks in their master’s degree or equivalent examination to be eligible.

Age Limit

For the UGC NET professorship exam, there is no upper age limit. However, candidates aiming for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) must be under 30 years old as of June 1, 2024. A relaxation of up to 5 years is granted for OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, Third gender candidates, and women applicants.

Application Fee

The application fees are as follows:

  • General candidates: ₹1,150
  • General-EWS/OBC (NCL): ₹600
  • SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender: ₹325

All candidates must ensure they pay the examination fee by the stipulated deadline, May 20, 2024, at 11:59 pm.

3. Select “New candidate register here.”
4. Register for the Online Application Form, create a password, and choose a security question.

Examination Date and Format
